So another idea is to use silverware or flatware cases. Really simple and yet almost customized to whistles!
The tags or labels seem to fit well within and the whistles can always face forward for referencing, unlike hooks where the label is sometimes rotated from where the manufacturer capriciously stamped it!
Now they can be put out of the way yet still there is easy access when necessary.
