A tape measure whistle sold on auction for 568 dollars US ( 2-2-2020 ). It appears to be made of brittannia. Very small and slightly damaged at the top of the window, it still works. We gained permission for pictures to present it.
The seller was selling off a large collection of figural tape measures. The claim is that this whistle was manufactured in Germany. No date is given, nor manufacturer. ( Circa pre 1900 )
Apparently, the knop or top handle rotates to wind the tape back in to retract it.
